DSEI – What is it, and why should you attend?

Posted by Thomas Edward Binnie Aug 21, 2017 12:29:50 PM

For almost anyone in the security or defence industry, this conference in London is a major deal. Let us explain why.

DSEI – Defence and Security Equipment International – is one of the largest exhibitions of its kind in the world, featuring technology and products for both land, sea, and air. It’s held biannually at ExCel London in the Docklands, and over 35,000 visitors and 3000 VIPs are expected to attend. The 2017 edition starts with a pre-conference September 11, followed by the main event September 12-15. We’re going to be there, and after reading this post, hopefully you’ll be as well.

Why attend?

First and foremost, the conference is a place to network and gather intelligence, par excellence. Representatives of companies from all over the world will be attending, showing off the most cutting edge technology of 2017 and beyond. Everything from uniforms, via

small arms, software, and large UAVs to battleships (some of which can be seen on the Thames during the conference) will be represented, and most suppliers will be looking to sell. Buyers include both official national delegations, and smaller project oriented ones.

If you’re looking for customers yourself, the conference is pretty much obligatory. It is the arena to show off what your company offers. Furthermore, with so many competitors gathered in one place, you’d be hard pressed to find a better way to gauge the current market, and what you have to do to stay ahead. The conference will also be peppered with keynote speeches and seminars, all through the week. While you should definitely plan which ones of these you want to attend beforehand, we highly recommend doing so with regards to the stands as well. The conference is massive, far too large to navigate without a solid plan.

Should you visit our stand?

If you’re reading our blog, you’re quite likely already in our target audience. If you’re part of a defence-, security-, or logistics organization or material command in charge of buying command and control software, you’d be hard pressed to do better than Teleplan Globe. We’re internationally renowned for making Decision Support Software that is proven to work in the field, on easy to use portable platforms, interoperable with alternative solutions from other countries.

Our software is usable by regular soldiers, special forces, all kinds of vehicles, and fire support. If any of these sound like your field of expertise, come by the FSI (Norwegian Defence and Security Industries Association) at stand S5-360, and schedule a talk with us. We’re looking forward to seeing you there.
